The Istanbul Education Conference (IEC) is an international platform for dialogue and reflection organized annually by The Research Center for Education Policy (EPAM) of the ILKE Foundation. Each year, the conference is shaped around a prominent theme in education, bringing together diverse perspectives to examine contemporary educational issues.
The conference aims to address the pressing challenges facing education systems from multiple dimensions while fostering a shared platform for dialogue among researchers, educators, policymakers, public officials, civil society organizations, and industry stakeholders. It seeks to strengthen collective thinking in education, encourage the exchange of diverse perspectives, promote the generation of new ideas, and make meaningful contributions to Türkiye’s education agenda.
Going beyond discussions confined to the national context, the Istanbul Education Conference provides an opportunity to examine educational experiences, policy approaches, and innovative practices from around the world alongside Türkiye’s own priorities and needs. In this way, the conference serves as a bridge between global trends and local realities, creating a space where international knowledge and national priorities can inform one another.
Within this framework, the conference continues to contribute to Türkiye’s education agenda by deepening discussions on current educational issues, strengthening dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders, and fostering the development of a shared vision for the future of education.
